The Nalgene is the bottle you buy when you want to stop thinking about the bottle. Tritan does not crack when it freezes or gets dropped on rock, the molded graduations let you measure water for a dehydrated meal or mix rehydration salts correctly, and the wide mouth takes drink mix, ice, or a scoop from a shallow spring without a funnel. Filled with hot water it is a legitimate sleeping-bag warmer on a cold night. The reason weight-counters do not carry it is 178 grams empty. A one-liter disposable Smartwater bottle holds the same water at about 36 grams, so two Nalgenes cost close to a third of a pound for durability many trips never call on. Being rigid, it takes the same pack volume empty as full. And the hot-water trick only works if the lid seats square - cross-thread it and the leak is inside your quilt.
